Narrative—Comparative Research On Chinese Tea Culture Documentary

China is the hometown of tea,and tea culture is one of the origins of the continuation and development of Chinese traditional culture.The Chinese tea culture documentary explores the spiritual value of tea by excavating the material value of tea,reveals the rich connotation of Chinese traditional culture,conveys the Chinese people’s philosophy of life and aesthetic interest,and is concerned by creators and audiences at home and abroad.The Chinese tea culture theme documentary is of great significance for inheriting and prospering Chinese traditional culture.It is also an important carrier for the national culture to “go global” for international exchange and to display the national image.This thesis uses the theory of image narratology and combines text analysis and case comparison.From the three aspects of narrative perspective,narrative structure and audiovisual language,this paper focuses on the most famous Chinese,American and Korean Chinese tea culture documentaries in the past decade.Specific research and analysis were carried out.It sorts out the history of the tea culture documentary in terms of objectification and storytelling in the overall creation,and creates a historical context of the development of diversified narrative means.At the same time,in response to the successful experience of Chinese and Chinese tea culture documentaries in narrative,the narrative strategy of future domestic documentaries is proposed.Finally,combined with the development trend of the current Chinese documentary,the new ideas and new directions for the creation of Chinese tea culture documentaries are proposed.
