The report aims to present the interpreting practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)Acupuncture-moxibustion and Tuina Exchange that the author participated on August 29,2020.The Exchange was held online through Tencent Meeting App and the author provided the consecutive interpreting service for the meeting.The typical cases concerning acupuncture-moxibustion and tuina techniques are explained and analyzed in this report.The report is composed of four chapters,including task description,task process,case analysis and the conclusion.The first chapter covers the background,main contents,features and significance of the task.Chapter Two includes pre-interpreting preparations,interpreting process,and feedback on the post interpreting.Pre-interpreting preparations present background information collection,terminology preparation,and theoretical preparation in details.The interpretive theory was employed for the theoretical support in this task.The third chapter,as the core of the report,demonstrates the analysis of typical cases the author met in this interpreting practice,focusing on the TCM interpreting techniques for the particular features of the TCM language.Reflections on the unsatisfactory interpreting cases are made for a better version of interpreting.The last chapter displays a summary of the author’s experience in the interpreting practice,the guidance of the interpretive theory for the TCM interpreting,and the interpreting competencies,including a wealth of TCM interpreting theories,a solid foundation for medical classical Chinese,etc.,that TCM interpreters should possess.The report may provide references for future consecutive interpreting service in the field of TCM for the author as well as other interpreters.
