During the eastern and Western Zhou dynasties, various social contradictions were complicated, and the royal family of Zhou Dynasty turned from prosperity to decline. In this period, the most important historical event was the move of Pingwang to the East,As one of the most important events in the eastern and Western Zhou dynasties, the research results of Pingwang’s moving eastward are not systematic, and the only records are very brief,or different opinions. The author believes that,in addition to a series of political and military factors, the environmental and economic factors can not be ignored. Moreover,it is not determined by one-sided factors, but by a combination of factors that can make the Zhou royal family leave the capital for nearly three hundred years. This paper mainly focuses on the political history between the western and Eastern Zhou dynasties, supplemented by geography, culture and diplomacy,to show the main context of Pingwang’s eastward migration. This paper is divided into four parts. The first part is the political turbulence in the late Western Zhou Dynasty. This part discusses that king Youwang of Zhou destroyed the system of inheriting the eldest son of his own, which led to Royal unrest and seriously weakened the ruling power of the royal family of Zhou. The second part is about the influence of Canrong on the eastward migration of Pingwang. This part discusses the general situation of Canrong in the early Zhou Dynasty and the damage and threat of Canrong’s internal migration to Zongzhou area in the middle and late Western Zhou Dynasty. The third part, the influence of the vassal states on the eastward movement of Pingwang, focuses on the political interest relationship between the royal family of Zhou Dynasty and Jin,Zheng,Qin,and analyzes the influence of Jin,Zheng,Qin and other vassal states on the eastward movement of Pingwang. The fourth part, the environmental change of the last year of the Western Zhou Dynasty, analyzes the impact of the deterioration of the climate environment in the last year of the Western Zhou Dynasty on the eastward migration of Pingwang, and the unique geographical and cultural advantages of the city of Luoyi in the era of that time.Generally speaking,on the basis of previous studies, this paper makes an in-depth study of the political and historical reasons and the natural and geographical reasons of Pingwang’s eastward move,so as to understand the situation between the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty and the decline of the Zhou royal family more accurately. At the same time, discussing the reason of Pingwang’s moving to the East involves the discussion of the relevant important historical issues between the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty can enrich the relevant content of the history between the Western Zhou Dynasty and the Eastern Zhou Dynasty, and make us have a more comprehensive understanding of some important issues.
