Study On The Layout And Evolution Factors Of The Zhou Dynasty Cities

In the past times,Zhou Dynasty’s cities,the discussion on the formation of cities is more focused on the military and political reasons,and less on the economic and cultural factors.This paper not only analyzes the political and military aspects,but also analyzes the economic,cultural and geographical aspects when discussing the evolution of the Zhou Dynasty cities.The evolution from the Western Zhou Dynasty to the Eastern Zhou Dynasty is multifaceted.In terms of the development of the city,the scale,quantity,shape and layout of the city and the internal organizational form of the city have changed greatly.This paper is divided into three parts,the first and the second parts of the western and Eastern Zhou City site layout were sorted out and analyzed.The Zhou Dynasty cities are divided into three levels: the first level is the capital of center area,the second level is the capital of the vassal states,and the third level is the small and medium-sized cities widely distributed in the vassal states.The third part discusses the differences between the Western Zhou Dynasty and the spring and Autumn period.In the fourth part,the author analyzes the factors of urban development and the layout of urban site,including natural environment,economy,politics and so on.
