| The process of globalization promotes the continuous integration of Chinese and Western cultures.As an important carrier of cultural communication,documentary plays an important role in cultural exchange.The subtitle translation of documentary is conducive to cultural communication.Therefore,the research value of subtitle translation is particularly important.Aerial China is a large-scale aerial documentary launched by CCTV in 2017,which demonstrates China’s historical and cultural landscape,natural and geographical features in economic and social development in an all-round way.Guided by the interpretative theory,this report selects episode Zhejiang and Anhui as the materials to complete the subtitle interpretation in the form of consecutive interpretation.This thesis mainly analyzes and discusses the translation strategies of words with Chinese characteristics and culture-loaded words,as well as the interpretation methods used in consecutive interpretation,aiming at producing a concise and coherent translation.This thesis is mainly divided into four chapters: the first chapter is to explain the background information,objectives,research significance and layout of this interpretation report;the second chapter is the preparation of the report before interpretation,such as the collection of background knowledge of the material,and the translation of professional terms,including the translation of expressions with Chinese characteristics,idioms and other words.The third chapter discusses difficulties at the language level and non-language level in the process of interpretation,and the methods and suggestions used to deal with those difficulties,such as omission,addition,segmentation and logical processing,conversion and literal explanation.In the fourth chapter,the author makes conclusion to this interpretation practice.Experiences gained from the interpretation practice and problems yet to be solved have been discussed.The author hopes that the interpretation of Aerial China can not only serve a guidance to similar documentaries,but also contribute to the spread of Chinese culture to the world. |
