The report is based on the translation of EDTECH INC.: Selling,Automating and Globalizing Higher Education in the Digital Age(Part 2),which is co-authored by Tanner Mirrlees and Shahid Alvi, who have distinct linguistic style. In the second part of this book, the author adopts objective and standard vocabulary, using a large number of professional terms and rhetoric techniques. At the same time, long sentences and compound sentences with complex structure and rigorous logic are used to explain phenomena and viewpoints.Lexical and syntactic features are the main difficulties that translators overcome in the translation process. In the translation practice report, first of all,Peter Newmark’s view on text type is used to analyze the original text. After determining that the original text is mainly informative text, his communicative translation theory is used as a guide, and translation strategies such as conversion, annotation, addition and inversion are adopted in the translation process. This report discusses the difficulties in lexical and syntactic translation of informational texts through examples, focusing on the readability of the target text, and trying to present the content and information conveyed by the original text naturally so as to provide references for the translation of similar texts in the future, also for our country’s development of higher education and educational technology industry in the digital age.
