Primary English phonetics teaching is an activity for teachers to teach and students to learn.Through this activity,teachers can guide students to learn and master English phonetics in a purposeful,planned and organized way.English phonetics learning can promote the improvement of students’ vocabulary memory,listening and communication ability.The primary school English phonetics learning can not only lay a good foundation for the later English learning.Therefore,English phonetics teaching plays an important role in language learning.This paper adopts literature research method,investigation method and classroom observation method,and takes the students and teachers in Grade 5and 6 of D National Experimental Primary School as the research objects to find the problems existing in English phonetics teaching in this primary school.Through the investigation results,it is found that the problems of English phonetics teaching in D Ethnic Experimental Primary School include:teachers’ teaching objectives are not clear enough;Lack of flexibility in the selection of teaching methods;The teaching content is lack of scientific nature;Lack of diversity in teaching evaluation;Students learning English pronunciation state is not good.The reasons for these problems are as follows:the influence of exam-oriented education on phonetic teaching;Textbooks play down pronunciation,and lack of listening exercises;Teachers and students pay little attention to English phonetics teaching.Mongolian language interferes with students’ pronunciation;Students’ English phonetics learning motivation is not strong;The influence of individual factors of students.By analyzing the existing problems and causes of English phonetics teaching in D Ethnic Experimental Primary School,this paper puts forward several countermeasures to solve English phonetics teaching in Mongolian primary schools: improving teachers’ professional quality of phonetics;To improve teachers’ ability to integrate teaching materials and enrich teaching methods;The application of Mongolian and English pronunciation similarities and differences;Cultivate pupils’ English reading skills and gradually form a sense of English language and mobilize the enthusiasm of students.
