Report On The E-C Translation Of Letters In Botswana Women Write

Based on the National Social Science Foundation Project “History of African Literature in English”,the report focuses on the English-Chinese translation of letters in Botswana Women Write.Compared with the quantities of literature on South Africa and other African countries,those on Botswana are less.What’s more,the quantity of literature research on letter translation is far more less than those on letters.The translation materials are selected from Botswana Women Write.The report concentrates on the translation of letters,and the report collects relevant resources through libraries and databases,including the background information of history,language and religion,and summarizes previous research methods and achievements.The report also analyses people’s names,place names and tribe and organization names in Tswana.The report also studies the important cases from three levels,namely lexical,syntactic,and textual levels,to figure out the difficult problems,thus concluding useful methods and strategies of letter translation.The report aims to provide some references for the related translation practice and researches of letters in the future.
