A Report On C-E Translation Of Employee Training Manual Of Golden Cradle Confinement Center

Employee training manuals are necessary training materials for new employees to understand regulations of their company and clear their job responsibilities.The author undertakes the Chinese-English translation project of employee training manual of Golden Cradle Confinement Center.The commissioner of this translation project emphasizes conciseness of the language for convenient usage.Therefore,starting from the commissioner’s requirements,the author uses translation skills flexibly to adjust the language to pursue conciseness.This report focuses on analyzing difficult points and its solutions in the concise translation process.In this report,difficult points are analyzed from concise translations in Chinese nursing vocabularies,repetitions and parallelism,long sentences,negative sentences,tables,and non-subject sentences.The author discusses in detail translation strategies,such as split and combination,ellipsis,abbreviations,usage of participle structure and prepositions.The author should break the bondage of the original text and try to meet the needs of the commissioner on the basis of retaining the content.And meanwhile,the author should ensure translation versions have consistency,readability and understandability and optimize the training efficiency of new employees to fulfill the role of bridge and service mission of a translator.
