A Gender Narrative Study On The Right Bank Of The Erguna River

The right bank of erguna river is a novel written by Chi Zijian.The novel contains Chi Zijian’s wisdom on the relationship between men and women and her profound understanding of the complex entanglements between modern civilization and traditional culture,which expresses the writer’s concern for the marginal ethnic groups,her reflection on modern civilization and her expectation for the harmony between men and women.The proposition of "gender" has occupied an important position in the research field of modern and contemporary literature for a long time.The author’s focus on female images and his view of gender relations make "gender" an important dimension in the study of Chi Zijian’s works.Throughout the novel,gender consciousness runs through it.On the basis of affirming the value of gender subjectivity,this paper uses the research method of gender narrative to explore the living conditions of both genders in the changing history of marginal ethnic groups from the perspective of gender.The thesis is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the research status,research value and overall research method of the novel.The first chapter mainly analyzes the female subject in the narrative of the right bank.The female group reflects the history of the ewenki ethnic group,and the female group,which symbolizes the power of salvation,cannot reverse the decline and fall of the clan,revealing the historical truth of the marginal ethnic groups being squeezed,swallowed up and modified.The second chapter focuses on the male group in the narration.The male group in the ethnic group innovatively expresses the "fertility worship" complex through the collective voice,which reflects the awe and respect for the natural civilization and ancient civilization.The emasculated male figure is a kind of cultural metaphor,which reflects the writer’s thinking and criticism of modern civilization.The third chapter mainly discusses the representation of the gender world.The author explores the ewenki ethnic ecology with the beauty and regret of the gender world,appeals for the return of the harmonious gender people,and expresses the memory of the dissipated traditional culture.
