A Futher Study Of Yin Zhiping Quanzhen Sect Theory

Yin Zhiping was interested in Yin-yang,which was influenced by family from childhood.And than he decided to leave home for studying it,regardless of family obstacles.He was influenced by five Taoist priests in Quanzhen sect,and formed his own understanding of “Dao ”.He practiced in the Yuqing Temple for many years,was received an adequate attention from Qiu Chuji,and followed him to meet with Genghis Khan,so that he gained a certain reputation in the community.After Qiu Chuji,Yin Zhiping took over as the sixth bishop.During this time,he was not only collected many disciples and built temples,but also reinterpreted and promoted the traditional thought of Quanzhen sect.When he reigned the Quanzhen sect,it was brilliant.In order to protect the position of Quanzhen sect did not impacted for the rise of Confucianism,Yin Zhiping was on the basis of inheriting the thought of his predecessor in charge of Buddhism,absorbed the thoughts of Confucianism and Buddhism and combined with the actual situation at that time,and than carried on the innovative inheritance to the traditional thought.His thoughts on Dao,Qi,life,practice and ideal personality adhere to the basic ideas of the traditional Quanzhen sect,such as Tao created everything,Qi was produced by Dao,Xing and Ming was created by oneself,non-action practice,and All of “Zhen” can become an immortal.He also put forward a new understanding of putting non-action practice and action practice together,paying attention to the accumulation of merits and virtues,doing things with ordinary mind and pursuing the reality.Yin Zhiping’s Quanzhen thought have many features,not only the integration of three religions,the creating Xing and Ming by oneself and becomeing an immortal,but also paying attention to action practice,accentuating the secularism.There are bothhave someinheriting the traditional Quanzhen sect and some surpassing the traditional Quanzhen sect.Although he is difficult to completely surpass the traditional religious overtones,but his thought reflected the efforts of ancients in the religious humanization in a certain extent.Yin Zhiping attached the action practice,and emphasized that people should accumulate merits and virtues.This idea makes him accepted and followed by the public.His thought not only inherited and developed the traditional Quanzhen sect thought,but also innovated the traditional thought.In the face of the rise of Confucianism,Yin Zhiping reinterpreted the Quanzhen’s thought,which made the Quanzhen’s entering ordinary thought become stronger,and injected new vitality and vigor into Quanzhen’s development in the future.
