Study On A Lyrics Text Mingheyuyin Of Quanzhen

Minghe Yuyin is an anthology of fairies and Taoist priest’s verses collected by Peng Zhizhong who was a Quanzhen Taoist priest in Yuan Dynasty. There are more than 500 works in this book which includes Ci, Qu, Shi, Fu etc. Most of the authors were Quanzhen Taoist priest, the others like Zhang Jixian and Mo Yueding were Taoist priests from other sects. This book is an important document to researching the literature of Quanzhen Taoist and the develepment of the Taoist sects. The first 2 chapters of this paper are mainly the study of the document value of the book. In the first place, the 2 chapters analyze the writing process, the versions and the document value, as well as discuss some details about the questionable parts. In the second place, they clear the selection of the writers, and make distinguishing analysis to some works. Because of the special compilation, it is so messy if one only reads the text. The writer of this paper thinks the book is a lyric text of Quanzhen Taoist by collating it, so Chapter 3 focuses on the analysis and discussion about the nature of a lyric text and the substance of the lyrics. In the end, the paper discusses the relationship between the lyrics in Minghe Yuyin and Story of a Journey to the West.The verse creations of Quanzhen Taoist priests occupied a large component in Jin and Yuan poetry. Their creating played a very important role in the development of Yuanqu. Even in Ming and Qing Dynasty, the literature was still influenced by the thought and works of Quanzhen Taoist priests. On the other hand, because of the particularities of the Quanzhen Taoist priests’ works, for instance, the poetry’s propaganda and indoctrination functional characteristic, as well as the enhance of the narrativity followed, the readers could probe the social custom, the life, and the missionary ways of that time, etc. The works of Quanzhen Taoist priests can not be ignored in the study of society, religion, and literature in Jin and Yuan Dynasty.
