| Home is a representative work of Mr.Ba Jin.It is a novel with strong literary color and plays an important role in the history of contemporary Chinese literature. So far, most scholars have studied the English version of Home from the perspectives of translation aesthetics, narratology and linguistics, and few have studied the Uyghur version of Home on the basis of hermeneutics. Therefore, from the perspective of Steiner’s hermeneutic translation theory, the author intends to analyze how the translator maintains the balance between the original text and the target text in the translation of Home, hoping to provide some reference for the translation research of literary works.Starting from Steiner’s hermeneutic translation theory, this paper discusses how the four steps of Steiner’s hermeneutic translation theory are embodied in the translation process through the analysis of specific translation examples in the Uyghur translation of Home, analyzes the translator’s translation strategies and other considerations in the translation process, and summarizes the enlightenment of hermeneutics to translation. This paper provides a new theoretical perspective for the study of the Uyghur translation of "Home".It objectively and impartially analyzes the translator’s translation behavior. It plays a certain role in the study of how to successfully translate a literary work and how to be faithful to the original text and transmit the cultural information behind the text to readers in a simple and direct way.It also plays a certain role in promoting the study of translation strategies for literary works. The paper is divided into four parts. The first part is the introduction, which mainly summarizes the current research situation of hermeneutics and the translation of "Home".It also discusses the basis, purpose and significance of the research, research methods, etc. The second part is the theoretical basis and related concepts, specifically introducing the four steps of hermeneutic translation theory, namely,"faith in","invasion","absorption" and "compensation".The third part discusses the application of Steiner’s four steps in the translation process through the analysis of the specific translation in the Uyghur translation of Home, and points out the translation strategies adopted by the translator in order to achieve the balance between the translation and the original. The fourth part summarizes the enlightenment of hermeneutic translation theory to translation teaching and Uyghur-Chinese translation. |
