Zhou Tao is an important writer in contemporary literature.His creation covers different literary genres,from poetry creation to prose creation to novel creation,showing the changes in his pursuit of style;realized the transformation from poet to essayist and then from essayist to novelist.As a leading figure and representative writer in Xinjiang literature,he incorporated Xinjiang’s unique regional culture and ethnic customs into his writing,making Xinjiang this magnificent land known to the public.There is no shortage of short stories when he is creating poetry and prose,and his novel "Journey to the West" is another harvest he has created besides poetry and prose.Although the number of novels by the writer is small,he is ingenious,using literature to express his concern and reflection on history and current social life,which reflects his social responsibility and humanistic care.The thesis mainly focuses on Zhou Tao’s novel creation.Based on the analysis and summary of his novels and the research materials on Zhou Tao’s novels,the research direction and the thesis framework are determined.The article uses social and historical criticism,text analysis and literature research methods,combined with his novels,short stories,"A Man and Xinjiang: Zhou Tao’s Oral Autobiography" and his literary creation experience,we can deeply explore the reasons for his creative turn.Then analyze the meaning and value of Zhou Tao’s novel creation.The introduction part describes the reason and significance of Zhou Tao’s novel creation,and at the same time combs and summarizes the research status of Zhou Tao’s creation.There are four chapters in the main body of the thesis.The first chapter analyzes the influence of Zhou Tao’s family environment,the thoughts received during his growth and the accumulation of literature on his approach to literary creation,and gives an overview of Zhou Tao’s novel creation,and discovers the inherent relationship between Zhou Tao’s personal experience and novel creation contact.The second chapter explores the inner meaning of Zhou Tao’s novels and finds that his novels present three aspects of writing about life’s plight,self-examination of life and insisting on ideals,to understand the inner meaning of novel creation and humanity care.The third chapter discusses the artistic characteristics of Zhou Tao’s novels,His novels present a personal narrative perspective,the choice of natural images and animal images,and a language style with a sense of picture and inner philosophy.The fourth chapter compares Zhou Tao’s creation aspect to the same period of writer creation.It reflects the value and significance of Zhou Tao’s novel creation.It is not only his self-transcendence in stylistic creation but also different writing of individual growth.
