| With China’s accession to the WTO,various forms of financial activities are frequently carried out around the world.In order to establish a good business relationship with investors,the company publishes an annual report every year.The annual report of a listed company covers a large number of professional terminologies,focusing on transmitting the basic information and investment value of the enterprise to the public and potential investors.This author selects the Sixth to Ninth chapters of the SASBADI-ANNUAL REPORT 2018 as the original translation material,which includes the company profile,business operations,management organization structure and financial status.This article is a translation practice report on annual report translation.The author applies Newmark’s Text Type Theory and communicative translation strategy to summarize the methods and techniques of annual report translation by analyzing typical translation cases.Starting from two levels of vocabulary and syntax,the author analyzes the characteristics of vocabulary and syntax in this annual report.Under the guidance of Newmark’s Text Type Theory and communicative translation strategy,the author uses extension,amplification and conversion on vocabulary translation while reverse translation method,splitting translation method and linear translation method on syntactic translation,which successfully solve the problems encountered in the translation process.Through post-translation summary and reflection,the author believes that translators must learn basic knowledge in other fields while learning translation theory to improve their own translation capabilities in order that they can have more opportunities to show their talents in the translation industry.Finally,based on this translation practice,the author puts forward some suggestions on the translation of company’s annual report,hoping to provide some references for the English-Chinese translation of company’s annual report. |
