Abstract/Summary:
With the liberalization of the national two-child policy, the psychological and behavioral changes of pregnant women have been paid more and more attention in the field of research.A series of previous studies on the long-term vision of pregnant women have broken the traditional belief that pregnant women are "stupid for three years".We have found that pregnant women are more "far-sighted" in the face of benefits and prefer to choose long-term benefits. In this study,we continued to explore the thinking of long-term planning and foresightin pregnant women, and combined the methods of questionnaire survey and laboratory experiment to explore the influence of pregnancy on loss-type intertemporal decision-making,as well as the mediating effect of long-term planning and foresight. In this paper, four studies were carried out step by step.Study 1 was a quasi-experimental study.Questionnaire survey was conducted on real pregnant women and non-pregnant women in daily life,so as to preliminarily explore the differences between the two sample groups in the scores of long-termism scale and the time discount rate of loss-making intertemporal decision.Study 2 is the study of experiment in the laboratory by means of video and image start to school-age unfertilized female college students to start the long count ahead thinking, effectively avoids the interference of physiological factors, thereby further verify the long count ahead impact on loss of inter-temporal decision,3 in order to improve the effect of long count ahead of ecological validity, long long count for the manipulation of individual thought level further validation plan ahead the influence of the thinking of inter-temporal decision;Study 4 is based on the results of study 1 and study 2.Starting from the interphase repayment behavior in real life, study on the repayment mode and intention of real pregnant women and non-pregnant women was conducted to further verify and support the results of study 1 and study 2.The research results of this paper mainly include the following:(1)the level of long-term planning and foresight of pregnant women is significantly higher than that of non-pregnant women;(2)in the loss situation, there is asymmetry between the individual time discount rate and the time discount rate of the benefit situation; In the loss-type intertemporal decision-making task, the time discount rate of the pregnant group was significantly lower than that of the non-pregnant group, and the pregnant group preferred the long-term loss more than the non-pregnant group.(3)pregnancy is to change the time discount rate of loss-type intertemporal decision-making through long-term planning and foresight,an intermediate variable;(4)long-term and long-term thinking will change the repayment mode of individuals, making them more inclined to delay repayment. Finally, the innovation of this study has three aspects :(1)compared with previous studies, the direction of long-term planning and foresight effect under loss situation is discussed, and the stability of this effect is verified under different loss frames, which expands the application range;(2)in this paper, pregnant women’s long-termism thinking was activated by pregnancy initiation and episodic future thinking, which was verified in the general population.(3)the individual preference of pregnant women was further verified in the actual repayment problem, which was related to the loss-type intertemporal decision-making problem in real life.Improved ecological validity.
