In recent years, with the gradual informationization of war,the role of electromagnetic spectrum in the military field has become increasingly prominent. At the same time, various military-focused think tanks have also conducted a lot of research on the development of this field, and these research reports are of great reference value. Therefore, the translator translated the CSBA article,Winning the Invisible War: Gaining an Enduring U.S.Advantage in the Electromagnetic Spectrum,to obtain the latest developments and related analysis of the military operations in the electromagnetic spectrum. This translation practice is based on Nord?s translation-oriented text analysis theory. This report analyzes the application of Nord?s looping model in translating military-focused think tank reports following four steps, namely interpretation of translation brief, analysis of source text, selection of translation strategy and production of target text;explores the influence of text receiver and text function on translation from the perspective of extratextual factors, and summarizes translation skills at lexical, syntactic and non-verbal levels from the perspective of intratextual factors.Nord?s text analysis theory provides effective guidance for the translation practice process, and its application sets a good example for future translation of military-focused think tank reports.
