| In recent years,the number of patents application from Chinese researchers on foreign patent platforms has been continuously increasing,and in the application process patent translation plays an indispensable role.That is why the importance of patent translation keeps rising higher for patent application overseas.With the development of economic globalization and the growth of China’s comprehensive strength,cooperation between China and other countries in different technical fields also presents an upward trend,and meanwhile,more and more foreign professional researchers pay close attention to Chinese patent.Therefore,the importance of patent translation is more and more prominent.Patent translation is of great significance for foreign-platform application and what’s more,rights protection.As such,the report did some analysis and researches on C-E patent abstract translation related to machinery,medicine,chemistry and agriculture and planting technical fields,with the hope of proposing some feasible translation strategies to provide a reference for later studies and making some contributions to technical exchange between different countries.The practical report researches on some 10,000-character corpus related to above-mentioned technical fields and especially analyzes C-E patent abstract translation.The report makes a featureoriented case study on the translation difficulties of title,four-character phrase,long sentence and technical term,and proposes some effective targeted translation strategies based on functional equivalence proposed by Eugene Nida.The study is not only a process for solving difficulties in translation,but also a reference could be provided for translating relevant documents.The practical report consists of five part: the first part introduces background and significance,research methodology and description of translation.The second part elaborates literature review and theory framework.The third part expounds the whole translation process.The fourth part describes the case study of difficulties of translation,and the last part provides conclusion and prospect. |
