Svetlana Alexievich wrote documentary literature in the form of interviews and reports and named her unique style "novels of voices".All her works have been adapted into plays. This thesis borrows the relevant theories of narratology, polyphonic fiction, and dramatic literature study, and explains the dramatization of "novels of voices" from four aspects:text construction, reception deduction, feature analysis, and formation reasons. The thesis intends to illustrate that Alexievich’s novels broke the boundaries of novel. Its narrative style, character language, plot layout, and spatial-temporal structure have dramatic characteristics, and the dramatization is the manifestation of the literariness.Using dramatic narrative techniques,Alexievich has eliminated the mediating role of the narrator, and hid herself in the discourse of the characters, thus made the novel objectively presented to readers like a dramatic performance. Her novels transformed from narration to display.Chapter One discusses the construction and generation of dialogue texts.Dialogue is the existence form of voice in the text.By distinguishing various concepts of "dialogue",the dialogue in the novel is divided into two types:micro-dialogue and multi-voice dialogue. The protagonist narrates the past with current vision.During the narration, the narrative-self conflicts with and the experienced-self,and it’s an inner micro-dialogue.Independent individual narratives constitute a polyphonic narrative under the same theme, and there are multiple dialogue relationships among different narrators.Alexievich’s novels are based on real dialogues. The plot development, space construction, and character creation are all carried out in dialogue.Dialogue bears the literary narration function. Therefore,it is a kind of "comprehensive dialogue".Chapter Two focuses on the presentation form of the dramatization.Alexievich’s novels are dramatic narratives.First, the narrator is the main character, and narrative viewpoint is the character viewpoint, thus the narrator is dramatized.Secondly, the plot layout begins with dramatic suspense.Around the problem-like theme, the conflicts are concentrated and generate a tense dramatic situation.Thirdly, the writer handles the narrative time with a scene method, the narrative time is diluted, and the conversion of space and scene promotes the development of the plot.At the performance level,Alexievich’s novels have outstanding performance value. The artists use vivid and realistic drama scenes to present the absurd living conditions and show weak people in typified stage images. The productivity of the text is improved.Chapter Three analyzes the main characteristics of the dramatization. The novel retains the oral expressions and musical rhythm in daily conversations, which meets the requirements of the drama language to reflect the character’s personality, and the musical tone of the oral genre coincides with the imagination of modern stage art.The "literary reality" reflected in Alexievich’s novels is similar to the "image reality" conveyed by documentary art.The methods of stream of consciousness, dreams, and fables visualize the character’s innermost being into scenes.Through the narratives of weak people,Alexievich’s novels overturns the mainstream historical narrative. The discovery of eternal humanity in extreme situations coincides with the spiritual core of absurd drama.Chapter Four summarizes the reasons for the dramatization.Alexievich intervenes in literature and reality with voice and hearing, and her works are based on interviews and dialogues in reality.By filtering and editing, sound material has been textualized. It is a kind of intervention and practice writing. After World War II,non-fiction writing, testimony narrative has developed.Under the impact of political revolutions and disaster events,Alexievich chose the oral documentary literature genre.
