Many scholars reach an consensus that the late Qing fictions is the origin of the modern Chinese literature. In this article, we study the figures’dramatization in chivalric/court-case novels in late Qing dynasty based on the chilling laughs.It is how the dramatization happened and what is changes that pay attention to the article.There are two types of figures in the chivalric/court-case novels, including chivalrous and upright officials.For three thousand years, the novels describes these two types of figures which is no longer well-behaved but dramatization. Studied on the figures’dramatization, this artcle demonstrates the dramatization tendency in the chivalric/court-case novels in late Qing dynasty.This article has three aspects:The first aspect summarizes that the figures’ dramatization of chivalrous and upright offcials have different aesthetic style——funny and pedantry; The second aspect analyzes the causes and generates of dramatization from chivalrous and upright officals’figures changes; The third aspect analyzes the meanings of the dramatization for chivalrous and upright officals. From the binary opposition between good and evil, power deconstruction and dramatization heralds the collapse of imperial power, this article illustrates the meanings of the dramatization.
