Belarusian woman writer Svetlana Alexandrovna Alexeyevic won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 2015.The Swedish Academy of Arts said in the award speech that "for her polyphonic writings,a monument to suffering and courage in our time".She inherits the Russian literary tradition of suffering and truly records the sufferings of the Slavic nation in the Soviet Union and the post-Soviet era.Her works mainly involve historical events such as the Second World War,the Afghan War,the Chernobyl nuclear accident and the disintegration of the Soviet Union.This paper takes the five works of the "Utopian Voice" series as the research object,analyzes the connotation and strategy of the suffering narration,and strives to fully grasp the overall appearance of the works and understand the ideological connotation and artistic value of the works.The thesis includes three parts: introduction,text and conclusion.The introduction part introduces the reason and significance of this topic,combs the research status of Alexevic’s works at home and abroad,and explains the research ideas,methods and innovations of this article.The main body is divided into four chapters.The first chapter discusses the motivation of Alexeyevich’s suffering narrative,the special growth experience and literary concepts,the complex historical background and realistic environment,the long Russian literary tradition,and the profound Orthodox religious consciousness,all of which have contributed to her choice of suffering narrative.The second chapter excavates the connotation of Alexeyevich’s suffering narrative,respectively interprets the emotional injury,spiritual distress,and survival suffering presented in the works,and deeply perceives the physical and psychological suffering of individuals in the grand historical events.The third chapter analyzes Alexeyevich’s narrative strategy of suffering,and expounds her methods and skills in writing the suffering picture from three aspects: perspective conversion,oral recording,and polyphony.The fourth chapter inquires into the value of Alexeyevich’s suffering narration.Her writing realizes the record and reflection of history,the continuation of humanitarian spirit,and the redemption and transcendence of suffering.The conclusion part highlights the literary value and practical significance of Alexeyevich’s suffering narration through the summary of the previous content.Her works exalt the subjectivity of human beings,respect the value of human life,affirm the spiritual strength of human beings in the struggle against suffering,and convey the humanistic care and practical concern of intellectuals.
