| There is always a complex,symbiotic and developing relationship between art and science and technology.With the development of industrialization in the 20th century,machines are gradually integrated into various fields of human activities.In the 21st century,machines with automatic and intelligent capabilities have almost covered the entire living space of human beings.As an emerging art form at the end of the 20th century,new media installation art,with new technology and new media as its creative means,has an inseparable relationship with machines.Artists begin to "talk" with machines,and its visual production is changing the way people read and listen,constantly expanding people’s perception of external reality and re understanding of cognitive process.In fact,art and technology are never antagonistic and irrelevant,but interact and even transform under certain conditions and backgrounds.In the early decades of the 20th century,people have established a series of broad views on the relationship between "art"and "machine".After the Second World War,some artists no longer stick to the machine as a theme or source of inspiration."Machine" itself began to become art,while artists became "artist engineers".This paper takes the "machine" in the new media installation art as the research object.By tracing back the development process and semantic expression of the machine participating in the art creation in the 20th century,we can understand and summarize the "machine characteristics" in the new media installation art works,and then understand the "explanatory power" of the machine in the art production process.In this paper,the new media installation art embodies the "machine",three contents are explored:the combination of hardware and software,the evolution ability of AI machine,the"autonomy" characteristics of the machine in the dynamic device.First of all,whether it is signal code or machine code,it can be seen as a mathematical object that acts on the transmission message.The transmission of wireless signal realizes the communication between people in machines,while the machine code leads us into the world of mathematical analysis,mechanics,modern automatic control theory and computer,and the binary genealogy coding is the bridge to all these worlds.Secondly,through the case study of new media installation works with artificial intelligence,this paper combs the relationship between machine intelligence and image production,analyzes how the learning ability of machine can help the creation of new media installation art,and clarifies the process of the evolution ability of works given by AI machine,and probes into the scientific and technological ethics and artistic speculation on this topic.Third,the autonomy given by the machine;The "autonomy" of new media installation works is based on the limited "autonomy" of machine objects.It is shown as the dynamic effect of the material,structure,or algorithm level of the works,which acts on the viewer’s consciousness level.The "machinability" in new media installation art is a process in which the machine deeply participates in the production of art.To a certain extent,it dominates the expression of works and makes the attributes of machines externalized into works,enriching the interpretation of works. |
