A Study On The Corrections In The Tenth To Eleventh Section Of Annotation To Shuo Wen Jie Zi

Shuowen Jiezi(hereinafter referred to as Shuowen),written by Xu Shen,who is from the Eastern Han Dynasty,as a classic of Chinese language and philology.It has been praised by the world since its publication.However,in the process of copying from generation to generation,there were many errors and its original meaning and content has gradually lost.Therefore,there are innumerable people who have made annotations and corrected errors for it.Duan Yucai,who is from the Qing Dynasty is one of those people,spending his whole life writing Shuowen Jiezi Zhu(hereinafter referred to as Duan Zhu).In Duan Zhu,the character pattern,the character pronunciation,and meaning of the characters are organized as the outline,using scientific collation methods to thoroughly revise Shuowen,which strives to reappear the original content of Shuowen.Duan Yucai used "Jinzheng"as the symbol,and corrected the seal script,pronunciation,interpretation,structure,quotation,and emphasis of each character in Shuowen one by one,which set off the upsurge of "peaking literature"and had a great influence on the study of Shuowen later.This thesis compares the Da Xu edition of Shuo Wen(handcopied by Chen Changzhi),published by Zhonghua Book Company in 1963,and Duan Zhu(Jing Yun Lou edition),published by Shanghai Ancient Books Publishing House in 1988,and synthesizes Xiao Xu’s edition and other dictionary dictionaries,analyzing the "Jinzheng"cases in the tenth to eleventh chapters of Duan Zhu one by one.The thesis found that in the tenth to the eleventh chapter,Duan actually revised 655 places in Shuowen(excluding the modified words),and the content of "Jinzheng"can be catogorized into three parts:"with both correction and annotation" "with correction but without annotation" and "with annotation containing correction" which are the first three chapters of this thesis.Each chapter is then divided into the following parts:"corrected seal character","corrected character’s meaning","corrected character pronunciation and structure","corrected quotation","corrected the characters with the same meaning but in similar or different pattern".The fourth chapter of the thesis explains the "three-character sentences"and "sentences containing the original seal character" used by Duan in the correction of Shuowen combined with the examples of the first three chapters.Finally,this thesis discusses the achievements of "Jinzheng" in Duan Zhu,and expounds the enlightenment of "Jinzheng" in Duan Zhu to "Jinzheng research".Although the research on the "Jinzheng" of "Duan Zhu" from the tenth to the eleventh chapter is a special study of part of the "Duan Zhu",but it is a corner and three contradictions,from the research of this article,we can still see the "Duan Zhu"the main idea,to understand the achievements of Duan Zhu,and then to perceive the essence of Shuo Wen,to comprehend Duan Yucai’s linguistics,collation and other thoughts,may have certain reference significance for the future study of Duan Zhu "Jinzheng".
