A Study On The "Corrections" In The Sixth Section Of Annotation To Shuo Wen Jie Zi

This thesis look into Duan Yucai’s Correction in the Sixth Sections of Annotation to Shuo wen jiezi (Duanzhu) by exhaustive collection of data, item-by-item check and classification.Shou wenjie zi(shuowen), is the first dictionary comprehensively analysises the language and meanings of Chinese characters. By hundreds of years, it has many errors and shortcomings. Duan Yucai takes 30 years to complete the Duanzhu, which book is particularly necessary to refer to the original Shuowen, gradually became the people basic reference book.The Shuowen we used which is published in 1963 compared with Duanzhu in the sixth section, and we found 199 differences this we call the "Corrections" as the object of this thesis. So we divided them into four types:Correction with words; Correction without words; Correction within words;Lian zhuan du.And Lian zhuan du is never referd before.so this article will analysis carefully.Under the each chaper, the Corrections can be categorized into five types depending on the content, The last section which is point out its significances and shortages. However, we know his defects cannot obscured his achievements.At present, we are research "Corrections" is quite necessary and meaningful,because of this is affect our correct understanding of shuowen.
