The usage of interrogative pronouns in modern Chinese is divided into two categories:interrogative usage and non-interrogative usage.With the development of modern Chinese pragmatics,the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns appears more and more frequently and is applied more and more widely.With its complexity,it is more difficult and more biased to learn for people who speak Chinese as a second language.In addition,when collecting and arranging the research on the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns,I found that there are more researches on the ontology of the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns and researchers have gained abundant achievements.At present,the studies mainly focus on the acquisition of non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns,the study of the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns by foreign students as a whole or the study of nationalization.However,there are few studies on the arrangement of interrogative pronouns from the perspective of teaching materials for oversea learners.In fact,Chinese language textbooks for oversea learners are the main way for international students to learn the non-questioning usage of interrogative pronouns.The rationality of the textbook layout is extremely important for learners to effectively master relevant grammatical knowledge.Therefore,it is urgent and necessary to strengthen the thinking about the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Using the BCC corpus of Beijing Language and Culture University,the CCL corpus of Peking University and the HSK dynamic composition corpus as the corpora,this article takes "Road to Success" as the object and classifies and summarizes the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns according to arbitrary reference,phantom reference,and negation.This paper analyzes the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns in the comprehensive textbook "Road to Success",the distribution and characteristics of the usage in texts,exercises,notes,comparing its similarities and differences with the requirements of the "Syllabus for Advanced Studies".This paper puts forward suggestions on teaching materials and teaching by adopting the methods of literature statistics,quantitative and qualitative,and error analysis,which is aimed at enriching the theory of Chinese cultural output and guide the practice of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.We believe that it is necessary to add notes and exercises on the phantom reference to the interrogative pronoun table and increase the relevant exercises on the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns in the "Road to Success".In teaching,teachers should pay attention to learners’ errors,combine the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns with other grammatical points and adopt diversified teaching methods such as discussion and demonstration methods,so that learners can master the non-interrogative usage of interrogative pronouns more systematically and efficiently.
