A Study Of Li Wenyuan’s Zuo Zhuan Ping

The early Qing Dynasty was the heyday of the commentary on Zuo Zhuan,and Li Wenyuan’s commentary on Zuo Zhuan was written at that time.It comments from the first year of Duke Yin to the twenty-fourth year of Duke Xi,and reflects the characteristics of the time and Tongcheng school’s thoughts on ancient prose.It has high research value.The introduction part introduces the research significance,research status and research methods of Li Wenyuan’s Zuo Zhuan Ping.The first chapter mainly studies the background and comment style of Li Wenyuan’s Zuo Zhuan Ping.From the perspective of academic origin,the family tradition and study of upholding morality and loving ancient Chinese prose contributed to the emergence of Zuo Zhuan Ping.In terms of the historical background,the basic orientation of Zuo Zhuan Ping was determined by the style of ancient prose comment in the Qing Dynasty,the style of managing the world and applying it,and the style of Tongcheng ancient prose.Zuo Zhuan Ping has the characteristics of taking narrative integrity as the standard in the selection of articles,not finishing the selection and evaluation of the final volume,and simple editing and evaluation features.The second chapter mainly discusses Li Wenyuan’s comments on the theory of Zuo Zhuan Ping,Zuo Zhuan Ping highlights the rational and objective view of history,and expresses the unique views on the historical events in Zuo Zhuan from three aspects:dialectical view of the historical events,overall view of the historical events,and comparison of the historical events of later generations.Zuo Zhuan Ping also carries forwTard the orthodox view of Confucianism,and explores the historical scriptures of Zuo Zhuan from four aspects:loyalty to the king and righteousness,filial piety and fraternity and obedience,benevolence and forgiveness and respect.The third chapter mainly discusses the grammar comments of Li Wenyuan’s Zuo Zhuan Ping,From the rules of article,Zuo Zhuan Ping is committed to revealing good grammar of Zuo Zhuan including the method of combining detailed and brief narration,the method of integrating powder in whole,the method of combining virtual narration with real narration,the method of interlacing,the method of confrontation,the method of bundling up points.From the perspective of textual method,Zuo Zhuan Ping pays special attention to the integrity of the textual method and the unique changes of the textual method.The fourth chapter mainly discusses the interests of the ancient prose embodied in Li Wenyuan’s Zuo Zhuan Ping.In the creation of deep meaning,Zuo Zhuan Ping presents deep meaning in the following two aspects:respecting moral integrity and making efforts to correct disadvantages of the Times,and arguing about righteousness and ethics for practical application.In terms of language formation,Zuo Zhuan Ping reveals the purport of concise,quaint and well-established language.The conclusion part summarizes the limitations of Li Wenyuan’s Zuo Zhuan Ping:firstly,the comments are not complete,relatively sparse;secondly,there are a lot of feelings of evaluation,and no complete system of evaluation theories and thoughts;Third,although Li Wenyuan disdained the imperial examination articles,Zuo Zhuan Ping was still influenced by the imperial examination articles of that time,and a few comments inevitably fell into the pattern of the imperial articles.At the same time,the future research is prospected.
