Study On The Chinese Characterss Of Regular Script On The Inscriptions Of The Northern Song Dynasty

Chinese Characters have developed from oracle bone script,Chinese bronze inscriptions,The lesser seal character and clerical script to regular script,The form of Chinese characters is constantly evolving,and they will take on different faces in different times.The regular script inherited the official script,came into being in the late Han Dynasty,evolved in the southern and Northern Dynasties,gradually took shape in the Tang Dynasty,and got more mature development in the Song Dynasty.Song Dynasty is an important era in the development history of Chinese characters,and its character pattern is worthy of attention.Because of the authenticity and reliability of the inscriptions,it provides strong evidence for the study of the evolution of Chinese characters.Therefore,the research materials selected in this paper are 184 inscriptions in regular script form in the Northern Song Dynasty.The regular script form of the Northern Song Dynasty inherited the regular script form of the Tang Dynasty,and the shape is square and neat,and the strokes are horizontal and vertical.In the Northern Song Dynasty,regular script was basically shaped.Due to the flourishing development of calligraphy in Song Dynasty,the style of regular script was influenced by Calligraphers’ writing style,and the variation of regular script with aesthetic feeling appeared.Therefore,the inscriptions in Song Dynasty become important materials for studying the development and variation of Chinese characters.Through the description,exploration and analysis of the face of the inscription of the Northern Song Dynasty,we can see the development of the pattern of regular script to the Song Dynasty,and then summarize the development and evolution of Chinese characters,in order to enrich the research content of the history of Chinese characters’ brokerages.This paper is divided into five parts.The first part is to describe the general situation of the Chinese Characters of the regular script in the Northern Song Dynasty,and make statistics and collation of the glyphs.The total number of effective glyphs is about 60000,which is 3546 words.The second part is based on the internal research of regular script glyph.According to the variation category,it can be divided into component variation,stroke variation,cursive regular script,radical classification,writing variation,ancient style legacy,taboo and so on.The variation of strokes includes the increase,decrease and change of strokes;The variation of components includes increasing or decreasing shape side,changing shape side,changing sound side,increasing or decreasing components,changing components and component displacement;The regular script type of cursive script refers to the variation of regular script influenced by cursive script;The classification of radicals can be divided into the assimilation of glyphs influenced by context and the internal assimilation of characters;There are also variations in the shape caused by writing habits,the legacy of ancient Chinese and taboo.In the third part,the author makes a comparative analysis of the use of regular script in the Northern Song Dynasty,Gan Lu Zi Shu and Pei Xi,and finds that there are systematic variations in some components of regular script,and summarizes these variations.The fourth part explores the influence of the Northern Song Dynasty regular script calligraphy on the Northern Song Dynasty stele regular script glyph.Whether it is a single stroke or a whole glyph,the glyph of regular script in Northern Song Dynasty is more or less influenced by the style of "Yan Zhenqing’s script" and "Four great calligraphers in Song Dynasty".The fifth part deeply analyzes the characteristics and reasons of the evolution of the form of regular script in the Northern Song Dynasty.The characters of regular script in Northern Song Dynasty are characterized by coexistence of various forms,parallel complexity and simplicity,and symbolization,And the reasons for the evolution of the regular script are analyzed.Based on the study of the regular script characters in the Northern Song Dynasty,this paper finds that in the process of the development of Chinese characters,there are many forms coexisting,complex and simple.People tend to use relatively simple strokes.Although there are complex phenomena,the general law of development is still to seek simplicity.Due to the prosperous development of calligraphy in Song Dynasty,all kinds of Chinese characters changed.The standard of regular script characters was low,the characters were not mature,and the shapes were various.As a result,the shapes of regular script characters in tablet inscriptions were changeable.It can be seen that the use of Chinese characters in this period was not very standard.
