| Based on the perspective of calligraphy art,this paper collates inscriptions in the late Northern Dynasties,which have the character of "seal character,clerical script and regular script hybridity",and presents a relatively complete style pedigree.From the point of view of time and region,this paper combs the evolution process and regional distribution of the style of "seal character,clerical script and regular script hybridity" in the late North Dynasty.Taking glyph and brushstrokes as clues,this paper discusses the different ways of font hybridity and its artistic features.To study the intrinsic relationship between this calligraphy phenomenon and its era,focusing on historical background,the development of characters and calligraphy learning,the factors of writers and engravers,culture and aesthetic psychology.Based on the phenomenon of "seal character,clerical script and regular script hybridity" on inscriptions in the late Northern Dynasties,this paper probes into the related parts of calligraphy history and outlines a special clue that looms in the history of calligraphy.Combining with the present situation of calligraphy development,this paper discusses how to draw on and use the calligraphy resources which break the boundaries of typeface to further explore the inherent tension of calligraphy art.The continuation of calligraphy history and the development of calligraphy art cannot be separated from the efforts of many parties.During the period of the evolution in calligraphy,the interweaving,alternation of old and new characters and the practice and creation of the writers jointly promoted the budding and even conscious development of calligraphy art.The evolution of calligraphy has come to an end,calligraphers and their artistic exploration have gradually become the main forces driving the development of calligraphic art.In addition,the phenomenon of breaking the font boundary,that is,the hybridity of fonts,in the same work,while not in the mainstream,has been going on forever.Its meaning,origin,cultural connotation and historical logic should not be ignored in the slightest."font hybridity" can be divided into seal character,scribe and regular script,or both.It is very similar to the phenomenon of "broken style" calligraphy,which is commonly referred to in later generations as "cursive" calligraphy,including seal script,sideways,glyphs or strokes.Among the phenomena of "font hybridity" in different periods,the phenomenon of "seal character,clerical script and regular script hybridity" in late Northern Dynasties is particularly remarkable.Firstly,a large number of works are concentrated in a short period of time.In less than 50 years between the the Eastern Wei Dynasty and the Northern Zhou Dynasty,the number of inscriptions with the characteristic of "font hybridity" increased explosively and was quite rare throughout the history of calligraphy.Secondly,there are many kinds and forms.Thirdly,the causes are complex and the artistry of different inscriptions are in different levels.The font hybridity in inscriptions is related to the special situation of the use of writing at that time,and is inseparable from the special cultural psychology of people under the background of cultural retro policies and cultural mixing.Among the numerous inscriptions,there are both coarse and ornate works.Fourthly,the implications are profound.This period is in the late stage of writing evolution and early stage of calligraphy conscious development.The phenomenon of "seal character,clerical script and regular script hybridity" in the late northern dynasties is the starting point,and then a comprehensive study can undoubtedly be initiated to explore the whole history of calligraphy.In the history of literature and art,many changes and breakthroughs can not be separated from the intersection and integration of different cultures,so as to promote new ideas.In a sense,the development of the text is also to break the boundaries of the existing font,from the "old" out of the "new" styles.The increase of calligraphy styles,also often through fusion.For calligraphy art,breaking the font boundaries and seeing this particular phenomenon in the history of calligraphy in a "combination" way may provide a new way of thinking for the development of contemporary calligraphy. |
