Study On The Bamboo Slip Script Of Wei, Jin And Southern & Northern Dynasty

Wei, Jin and Northern & Southern Dynasties is the crucial phase which current writing system forms. It descents the mature development of clerical script from the end of Han dynasty and continues the evolvement of clerical script which transforms to the standard script, the running script, the grass script later. Beginning of the research and study about middle age Chinese character is the indispensable important link to build up bamboo slip scripts database and card the evolvement of Chinese character from ancient writing to current. Wei, Jin and Northern & Southern Dynasties is the script carrier's transition period, which is from bamboo slip to paper. And it is also the last period when the bamboo slip and brush pen are widely used among middle and underlay of bureaucracies, cavaliers. The bamboo slip script showed the reality of script writing at that time, so we choose Wei, Jin and Northern & Southern Dynasties' bamboo slip script as our object of study.The bamboo slip script writing of Wei, Jin and Northern & Southern Dynasties was moving towards the mature stage. Its stroke system already formed, but was imperfect. The component system also already constructed, but was not mature. Looked from the typeface style, it is at the magistrate stage from clerical script to standard script. In its writing material, it is very difficult to judge some character is clerical or standard script. It was much more proper to determine them as the clerical character with standard nature, in another word, the standard character with clerical nature. Because of the social background at that time, the alternation of dynasties causes much variant character. Looked from the configuration system, semento-phonetic writing pattern still was the most main configuration way, the semento component is the most active construction of character ingredient, the proportion of symbol component participating in the character construction is increasing gradually. According to structure reason, character at that time was less than the ancient writing stage obviously, but still 70% of the character can be analyzed from the structure reason. Therefore, the bamboo slip script writing of Wei, Jin and Northern & Southern Dynasties still was an ideograph.This paper is divided into six chapters and appendixes.First chapter outlines the bamboo slip script writing of Wei, Jin and Northern & Southern Dynasties' unearthed and research situation. Second chapter analyzes emphatically from the typeface from overall appearance, and analyzes the whole typeface style from the stroke stratification and the component stratification. Third chapter focuses in the variant forms which are analyzed from the entire character, the component, the stroke to descript the reason about variant forming, and counts proportion by reasons, thus obtains the main cause which the bamboo slip script writing of Wei, Jin and Northern & Southern Dynasties forms. Fourth chapter carries on the description to the configuration system, analyzes the component function, the configuration pattern of the bamboo slip script writing of Wei, Jin and Northern & Southern Dynasties to obtain the configuration characteristic of these materials. Fifth chapter analyzes the structure reason of the bamboo slip script writing to obtain the retention degree of these materials. By comparing the prefix collected in "Shuo Wen Jie Zi" and "Yu Pian", sixth chapter analyzes the character inheritance and the additional situation in Wei, Jin and Northern & Southern Dynasties.
