| From March to April 2019,the Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology of Jilin Province,together with the School of Archaeology of Jilin University,conducted a special archaeological survey of the Bu’Erhatong River basin in the Yanbian region of Jilin Province,discovering 12 new sites containing Chipped stone tools and collecting 365 stone artifacts.This paper mainly analyzes these artifacts from 12 sites in the Bu’Erhatong River basin,with a view to reveal its Paleolithic cultural appearance,so as to have a more comprehensive understanding of the paleolithic culture in Jilin Province.This article contains 4 chapters.Chapter 1 InstructionThis chapter is the instruction of this archaeological survey.A Paleolithic archaeological survey was carried out in the spring of 2019 in the Bu’Erhatong River basin,and many sites and stone artifacts were found.It can provide us important materials for the study of the ancient human culture in northeast China from the late Pleistocene to the Holocene.Chapter 2 Discovery and excavationIn this survey,8 newly discovered stone sites were found in the mainstream of Bu’Erhatong River basin,3 in Xilin River Basin,a tributary,and 1 in Yilan River Basin,among which trial excavation was carried out in Taoyuan Village Site,Laotougou Town,Longjing City.A large number of stone artifacts were found in the reddish-brown sandy clay layer under the cultivated soil layer.Chapter 3 Analysis and research of stone artifactsThe stone products found at each site were measured,analyzed and studied respectively,and the characteristics of the stone industry at each site were summarized.Chapter 4: DiscussionDivided the stone industry of the site.In this paper,the stone industry of the Bu’Erhatong River basin is divided into flake stone industry and microlith industry,and the compare of the stone industry with the surrounding river basin,such as Hai Lan river basin,Mu Leng river basin,and the Yellow River basin was be done.The stone industry of the Bu’Erhatong River basin is both embodies the characteristics of the simple coreflake industry of the north China and the microlith industry of the northeast China which with significant characteristics in the late Pleistocene.The age of these sites shall be the upper Paleolithic to the Neolithic age. |
