A Study On The Image Genealogy Of Lei Feng’s Book Cover (1963-1999)

This paper takes the cover image of Lei Feng’s books from 1963 to 1999 as the main research object,and takes genealogy and iconology as the main research methods to explore the continuity and changes of the pedigree of the cover image of Lei Feng’s books from the 1960 s to the 1990 s,analyze the visual characteristics and forms of expression of the image,and explore the social connotation and era significance contained in the image.This paper is divided into five chapters: the first chapter mainly expounds Lei Feng’s books,the concept of pedigree and research period,the source and basis of the topic selection,research significance and value,research review at home and abroad,basic content and research methods,key points,difficulties and innovations;The second chapter combs the origin of the concept of hero model,the generation and publicity of hero model in Yan’an period and new China,and the movement of learning from Lei Feng;The third chapter focuses on the analysis of Lei Feng’s portrait pedigree,Lei Feng and automobile pedigree,Lei Feng’s learning from Mao Zedong pedigree,Lei Feng’s gun pedigree,Lei Feng and others pedigree,symbol pedigree;The fourth chapter analyzes and compares the image of Lei Feng’s book cover with that of other carriers,mainly including the comparison between the image of Lei Feng’s book cover and the image of painting,the image of learning category,and the image of commemorative category;The fifth chapter summarizes the characteristics of Lei Feng’s book cover image pedigree and its contemporary significance.This paper holds that the image pedigree of Lei Feng’s book cover from 1963 to1999 reflects the political culture and artistic creation of Chinese models in this period.The image pedigree of Lei Feng on the book cover shows continuity and stability across different times,reflecting the continuity of the country’s social and political foundation and ideological needs.At the same time,the image of Lei Feng on the cover is affected by social and cultural factors in different historical periods,and also shows varying degrees of change.The research on Lei Feng’s image of book cover has reference and enlightenment significance for contemporary book design and thematic creation of contemporary art.
