Study On The Cover Design Of Chinese Literature Books In 1949-1999

This thesis studies on the cover design of Chinese literature books from 1949 to 1999.During 50 years after the funding of People’s Republic,Chinese society has gone through three stages:the 17th year of the founding,the Cultural Revolution and the new period of reform and opening-up.The thesis examines the political decision,social thinking and the blending of east and west,which have huge effects on the cover design.The thesis focuses on the characteristics of images,fonts,colors,composition,design style and printing technology of the covers in different periodsThe first chapter elaborates the concept and the type of the literature books,the research background,the literature review,the main content,the research method,the key point,the difficult point and the innovation point;The second chapter elaborates the cover design of different literary works and the design elements such as the image,font,color and composition in 17th years period The third chapter expounds the influence of extreme politics during the period of Cultural Revolution,and elaborates the impact of literature publishing and the difficult development of book design.Chapter four expounds the design elements of image,font,color,composition and so on of different genres in the new era of opening-up,and studies on the open design concept and diversified design style.Chapter five summarizes the development and characteristics of the cover design in the last 50 years after the founding of the People’s Republic of China,and expounds the cover design recently in China.In addition,it elaborates the reference meaning of the historical design to modern design.
