| At present,with the deepening of globalization,cultural mutual learning occupies an important position in exchanges between countries.Countries learn from each other’s culture,which is helpful for cultural sharing and understanding.This report selects Bai Yansong’s speech around Tao Te Ching as an example for consecutive interpreting.This report mainly introduces and records the material background and interpreting process in detail,and the case analysis are main parts.Analyze by comparing the different translation versions.The case analysis part uses the framework of “Comprehension,Expression and Adaptation” proposed by Li Changshuan in Comprehension and Expression: A Case Study of Chinese-English Translation to conduct an in-depth analysis of these three parts and propose the best solution.Due to the characteristics of the language of this speech,the speech contains some culturally loaded words,Bai Yansong’s humorous and ironic expressions,and some classical Chinese interpreting,so there are many examples that need to be explored in depth in understanding.Use analysis of context and access to information to solve such problems.The expression part compares the translations of Tao Te Ching,analyzes the differences between translation and interpreting,and selects the best solution based on the characteristics of interpreting.In terms of flexibility,based on understanding the original intent,use the methods of omission and flexible application for translation.Finally,it summarizes the process,summarizes its own shortcomings,methods and prospects for the future in the process of practice.The interpreting provided in this report serves as a reference for the interpreting of classical books and contributes to the interpreting of Bai Yansong’s speech. |
