A Mock Consecutive Interpreting Report On Translation Strategies Of Chinglish

In recent years,with the rapid development of China’s economy and society,Chinese culture has been one of the hot topics in the world.Chinese culture is well-known for its profound historical accumulation and unique value system.Accurate interpretation can effectively improve cultural output and promote it around the globe.However,due to the differences in cultural backgrounds and expression thinking,the deviations and ambiguities caused by Chinglish expression have led to obstacles in the spread of Chinese culture.Therefore the solution for Chinglish expression has become an urgent demand.This practice report selects speeches from “Chinese Cultural Industry New Year Forum” as materials.The speeches elaborate on the current development status of China’s cultural industry,the problems in development,and related cultural policies.Abundant specialized vocabularies and expressions with Chinese characteristics emerged in the speeches.Dealing with them reasonably can effectively avoid Chinglish expressions,including redundancy,ambiguity,logical confusion and other specific issues.Under the guidance of the CEA framework,the author analyzes and solves the Chinglish expression issues through comprehension,expression,and adaptation.Moreover,he tends to convey the information accurately while retaining the Chinese characteristics to make the interpretation easy to understand and meet the audiences’ expectations.This practice report elaborates on the strategies to solve the problems of Chinglish expression in the process of simulated interpretation,aiming to convey the real cultural meaning to the target audiences.At the same time,the author also anticipates realizing deverbalization and the concise transformation from the source language to the target language to spread Chinese culture abroad and express stories with Chinese characteristics better.
