Based on the theories of Interlanguage, this thesis analyzed the sources ofChinglish both inside and outside the two languages—English and Chinese, and alsoproved the inevitability of Chinglish and its effect on the phenomenon of Fossilization.By tracking the students in two grades in North China Electric Power University, datawere got by the way of questionnaires and homework. Having analyzed these data, the author found that the students in the two grades are on the stage that thephenomenon of fossilization happens frequently, who are on the same levels ofEnglish learning and have nearly the same frequency of Chinglish, which proves thatit is not enough to reduce Chinglish only by extending the time of English learning, and some learning strategies must be adopted as well. By experiments andobservations, the author also found that metacognitive strategies should be combinedwith both traditional and non-traditional ones to form an integrated strategy for thepurpose of decreasing the negative transfer of native language and increasing thepositive one to reduce Chinglish and avoid the phenomenon of Fossilization. |
