A Study Of Chinese Music Activities Among Chinese Americans

Chinese music is a unique artistic treasure of Chinese civilization.In the process of cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries,music activities are helping to build an effective way and are playing a special role of presenting Chinese multiculturalism.Chinese people living overseas are those who actively hold Chinese music activities and spread Chinese culture.Taking chronological events as a clue,this paper systematically compares the representative music events held by the Chinese American Chinese Cultural Center between 1849 and 2000,and explores the history of Chinese music activities held by the American Chinese and its background and motivation.Analyze the American public’s acceptance of Chinese music and its influencing factors,and take Chinese American jazz as an example to explore the influence of Chinese music culture on American culture.The paper is aimed to make a modest contribution to the overseas spread of Chinese culture.This paper includes three parts,including introduction,three chapters and conclusion:The introduction mainly introduces the motivation of the writing,the state of art,the research ideas and innovations of this paper.The first chapter mainly introduces the Chinese music in the life of Chinese Americans in the mid-19th century,explores the Chinese music activities carried out when Chinese first entered the American society and the reasons behind them,and takes Muyu Song in Taishan as an example to analyze the spread and development process of Chinese folk music in the United States.The second chapter mainly analyzes the representative Chinese music activities in San Francisco Chinatown,the early center of Chinese music activities in the United States,analyzes the process of Chinese music activities from prosperity to decline and then to resurgence under the influence of the anti-Chinese movement in the United States,and reveals the reasons why Chinese people created Chinese jazz to integrate into the mainstream society of the United States.The third chapter mainly discusses the basic situation of New York,the center of Chinese music activities in the United States after 1950,and its influence on American culture,analyzes the trend of Chinese music activities from single to multiple under the immigration boom,and explores the different reasons for Chinese music activities in different social classes.In addition,this chapter also takes the development of Chinese jazz as an example to explore the influence of Chinese culture on American music activities in the past century.The conclusion part mainly summarizes the basic process of Chinese music communication in the United States,analyzes the main reasons for the development of Chinese music culture communication in the United States,explores the important influence of Chinese music on American culture,reveals the great potential of Sino-American music culture communication and integration,and sorts out the enlightenment of Chinese music culture communication in the United States,in order to enhance the confidence of Chinese culture.Promote Chinese culture to go out,promote the exchange of mutual learning between things civilization.
