With the development of business and trade,higher requirements are put forward for business English talents in secondary vocational schools,especially the ability to use language communication.The training of the language communicative ability of secondary vocational students is mainly through classroom teaching,and the participation of students in the classroom has a direct impact on the teaching effect.This research is based on the business English listening and speaking class,by studying the current situation of students’ classroom participation,understanding the real situation of classroom participation,and putting forward corresponding solutions to existing problems,so as to improve students’ English listening and speaking skills.Based on existing related research on classroom participation,this research is guided by humanistic learning theory and input learning theory.Taking the business English majors of three schools as the research objects,the survey and research on the current situation of the classroom participation of the business English majors in secondary vocational vocational business English through the questionnaire survey method,classroom observation method and interview method.Through research,it is learned that in the secondary vocational business English listening and speaking class,the participation behavior is single,the participation awareness is not strong,the negative emotions are mostly,the participation level is not high,and the evaluation method is single.The influencing factors are mainly considered from both the teacher and the student.The teacher’s teaching method is mainly based on the teaching method,teaching style,and question content;the student’s personality,weak knowledge base,participation habits,gender and role differences of the students,etc.These factors will affect the effect of classroom participation.Based on the foreign language teaching theory and actual teaching situation,the corresponding improvement suggestions are put forward to enrich the teaching organization form,cultivate the students’ awareness of active participation,create a harmonious teacher-student relationship,create a high-level thinking classroom,and use multiple evaluation methods.In order to improve the participation of secondary vocational students in the business English listening and speaking class,and improve the teaching effect.
