Contribution Of Chen Yingshi To Chinese Music Historiography

The study of Chinese music history is an important part of Chinese musicology,which is divided into ancient music history and modern music history.In the field of ancient music history research,such as Wang Guangqi,Yang Yinxiang,Huang Xiangpeng,Lu Ji,Feng Wenci,Rao Zongyi,Liao Fushu,Li Chunyi,Xia Ye,Chen Yingshi,Zheng Rongda,du Yaxiong,Sun Xingqun,Liu Regeneration,Zhuang Yongping,Zheng Zuxiang,Wang Zhichu and other scholars have made outstanding contributions to the development of ancient Chinese music history.Among them,Chen Ying-shi,an honorary professor of Shanghai Conservatory of Music,is the winner of the Golden Bell Award of Music Theory of the Ministry of Culture,and is a prominent representative of a large number of research achievements in the fields of music law and ancient genealogy in the history of ancient music.In more than 200 papers and more than 10 books published by him,he has not only revised the views of previous scholars,but also made great contributions to all aspects of ancient music history in China.At the same time,his "academic principles seeking truth from facts,unselfish "," serious collection,collation,research,comparison,practice" and other academic ideas left a valuable wealth for future generations;his "students are their own children "," hard work,hard work,research "," set an example by example," and other ideas of teaching and educating people are also examples for future generations to learn.Chen Yingshi is an important contributor to the study of ancient Chinese music history.He not only made outstanding contributions in law,ancient genealogy and palace tune,but also had great influence on the research results in music history.Together with Chen Lingqun,he co-authored the Chinese music history textbook "A brief History of Chinese Music History ".Shanghai Conservatory of Music,Shandong University and Texas College all use this book as the teaching material of Chinese music history,which shows that the textbook has the universality and value of dissemination.Chen Ying-shih was translated into "Basic Theory of Chinese Traditional Music"(1995),published in Japanese and English,and "The Source of Music——Research on Chinese Traditional Music",co-authored with Japanese historian Dong Chuanqing.Chen Yingshi has made outstanding achievements in the field of ancient Chinese music history.He combines the research methods in the history of western music with the research methods of Chinese traditional historiography,puts forward his own academic theoretical viewpoint,and opens up a new way to study the history of Chinese music.In this paper,Chen Yingshi’s contribution to Chinese music history is summarized,through comparative research,literature review,interviews and other methods,Chen Yingshi’s music theory research and academic ideas,hoping to provide some shallow views for researchers in related fields.
