| With the implementation of “the Belt and Road Initiative” and the strategy of Chinese culture “going global”,external publicity has become one of the most prominent themes in China’s development in recent years.The translation material of this report is from the official website of Panshan County,a Chinese publicity material of Panshan County.Its main audiences are the readers of English-speaking countries,so it is necessary to fully consider cultural differences,way of thinking,ideology,world outlook,values and so on.The practice report concerns the translation strategies of words with Chinese characteristics,non-subject sentences and long sentences based on the guidance of Three Closeness.During the translation process,the translator analyzes the translation strategies of words with Chinese characteristics,particularly in literal translation,amplification and omission,adding subject and conversion of sentence voice are applied to explain non-subject sentences,linear translation,division and restructuring are adopted to solve long sentences.The results of this practical report show that Three Closeness is applicable to the translation of external publicity texts,and plays a guiding role in the translation of external publicity.In addition,as a translator,the author must closely follow the development of the country,always pay attention to the country’s external publicity,understand the domestic publicity situation,and contribute to the country’s external publicity development. |
