After development for a century,Sandplay Therapy has already been a mature psychotherapy technology. The basic elements are sand, water and sand bodies. The combination of these elements is the important part of psychotherapy. In recent years,Sandplay Therapy developed gradually in China. At present, the application of sandplay has expanded from individual to group, from children to adults, from individuals with mental diseases to the general people. This study contains two parts. The first one is to analyze the initial sandtray of middle school students with low level of peer attachment by observing the differences on number of kinds of miniatures used, scenes created, characters of themes, space field between the experimental group and the control group; The second part is to intervene the students with low level of peer attachment by using group sandplay in order to explore the intervention effectiveness of group sandplay. These two studies have a progressive relationship that enables a transition from diagnosis to intervention. In order to achieve the above research purposes.the first study was conducted using the Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment, and a random survey was conducted for all classes in the first grade and the second grade of a middle school in Nanjing.A total of 40 students were randomly selected from the high-grade group and the low-grade group as subjects.Based on the theoretical research of other researchers, the initial sandplay of two groups was coded and analyzed by SPSS20.0.Based on the first study, excluded the twenty students who has already finished the initial sandtray,a total of 24 children were randomly selected from the members of the low-grade.They were randomly divided into three groups, each with 4 males and females. The first group was sandplay experimental group which received a 4-week group sandplay. The second group was a group-guidance control group and received a4-week general group counseling. And the third group was a blank control group, and no treatment was accepted. Finally, the actual intervention effect of the group sandplay is examined by the scale score. The results of the study showed that the high-grade group and the low-grade group achieved significant differences in the three categories of people, vehicles, and plants;there was no significant difference between the two groups in the total number of scenes created, and the number of country scenes in the low-grade group was significantly higher. There was no significant difference in the total number of two groups presented in the space field.Comparing within groups, the result indicated that there are more healing and less wounding theme signs in high-grade group.By waysof chi-square test, the low-grade group was significant higher chaos, divisions, threat. And the results under the cure theme showed that the two groups reached significant differences in the bind, integration, trip, regulation and else.We confirmed that group sandplay is an effective way to enhance the level of peer attachment. The conclusions are as follows : Sandplay may be a valuable tool for the clinical assessment of students with low level of peer attachment. And group sandplay is an effective way to enhance the level of peer attachment.
