Study On The Application Of The Law Of Form "Repeat" In Woodcut Prints

With the change of the times,nowadays,in the era of cultural diversity and changing artistic ideas,the painters have a higher pursuit,both in form and content.But from ancient times to the present,the form of "repetition" has never changed,has been in the works of artists,every time can see its figure.The first philosophical concept of "repetition" can be traced back to Plato’s "rationalism ",and Plato regards the objective world as a reflection and imitation of " rationalism ",which opens up the "repetition" based on the same logic and establishes the conceptual knowledge pedigree of repetition.Then,in the 19 th century,the phenomenon of repetition and repetition received extensive attention in the fields of psychoanalysis,cultural anthropology,linguistics and computer science.The concept of "repetition" of the law of form is more extensive and intuitive,and is more used in plane composition,which expresses an orderly beauty.To be exact,it is a kind of visual repetition,which comes from the interpretation of graphics by visual perception,and emphasizes the continuity and order of things according to the principle that the whole is larger than the part.As a result,the visual element symbol is constantly strengthened to achieve the purpose of repetition—strengthen the viewer’s impression and memory.From this point of view,the material and performance of woodblock prints can be well combined with repeated forms,thus forming a large visual picture effect,better performance of the creator’s emotional experience.This paper focuses on the application of the law of form "repetition" in the creation of woodblock prints.The first part gives a general overview of the law of form "repetition ",the second part expounds the concept and characteristics of "repetition ",the third part studies the expression of "repetition" in printmaking,the fourth part combines "repetition" in the law of form with "micro" printmaking,andfinally makes some experiments on the development of the law of form.What can be seen is the author’s personal understanding of form and the presentation of the picture in his creation.Taking the law of form as the theoretical basis,this paper interprets and analyzes the contemporary printmaking by "repetition" in printmaking,and completes the study of "repetition" in the law of form by exploring the combination of geometric figure,orderly arrangement and combination,and repeated aesthetic feeling of picture,so as to provide some theoretical basis and practical experience for other later creation.The subject matter of the creation works originates from the daily city life imprint,depicts the general and the subtle scene in the life through the repeated form,creates the artistic creation which fits the people’s life,can help people to understand better the unique charm of the form and the life union.
