| Tencent Global Partner Conference-INTERGROWTH?WeChat Forum,gathering a number of business people,scholars and journalists from home and abroad,is one of the sub-forums of Tencent’s first industry conference after having gone through restructuring in 2018.Business people are invited to speak about changes in technology,education and entrepreneurship in the digital age and show cases of how they leverage WeChat to make innovative and beneficial solutions.Their speeches are reproduced on a record as the C-E simultaneous interpreting task material.The report includes analysis and summary of the entire interpreting process.Through pre-interpreting preparation for discourse features of the speakers,the interpreter forecasts that highly dense and colloquial expressions might put load on processing capacities for listening,short-term memory,speech production and coordination.To achieve good performance,the Effort Model is adopted as the general guideline of the simulated simultaneous interpreting practice this time.Based on this theory,the interpreter adopts some basic strategies such as the linearity and anticipation,and further analyzes tactics for dealing with idioms and jargon,high density of speech segments and colloquial expressions.In this regard,tactics such as reconstructing,paraphrasing,inference and omission are employed under the guidance of the Effort Model.This report focuses on the analysis of difficulties and coping tactics which could serve as a reference for C-E simultaneous interpreting tasks in the future. |
