| As China’s ―One Belt One Road‖ Initiative is advancing,Chinese enterprises’ investment in Southeast Asian countries has been increasing. The countries ensure fair competition and resolve disputes by formulating relevant laws, regulations and treaties. As a result, legal translation has become an effective tool to eliminate barriers between different legal systems, languages and cultures in international cooperation. However, compared with the amount of translation practice of legal texts, the research on legal translation is relatively backward. In particular, for the English-Chinese translation of legal texts, there are few studies on its translation methods from the aspects of vocabulary, sentences, and chapters. The text of this translation project is Decree On Construction Project Management(NO.59/2015/ND-CP).It is formulated by the Vietnamese government and mainly provides guidance for engineering project management. In the report, the author takes it as an example from perspective of Skopos theory. At the lexical, syntactic and textual level respectively, the translation strategies of legal texts are discussed to ensure the accuracy and professionalism of the translation.(1)legal dictionaries and parallel texts are consulted to tackle the problems in vocabulary translation;(2)division is used to deal with the translation of long sentences;and the ―converting into Chinese active sentences‖ is employed to deal with that of the passive voice;(3)grammatical cohesion and verbal cohesion are maintained for strengthening the intra-textual coherence. |
