Family functions have an extremely important influence on fostering pro-social behaviors of adolescents.Peers are another group that influences the way adolescents behave.Peer acceptance is also an important factor that affects adolescent’s attitude and behavior pattern. The situation of teenagers’ family function have certain influence on the establishment of interpersonal relationship.Under different levels of family function adolescents show different situations of peer acceptance and pro-social behaviors. The research on the relationship between family function and pro-social behavior and the study on the role of peer acceptance is conducive to the joint cultivation of pro-social behavior in the environment of family and school. In this study,1027 subjects from 2 schools were selected to study the family function, peer acceptance and pro-social behavior of adolescents by using family function questionnaire, peer assessment method and adolescent pro-social behavior questionnaire to analyze the mediating effect of peer acceptance between family function and pro-social behavior and the mediating effect of left-behind status on this mediating path, the following conclusions were drawn:(1)The overall level of adolescents’ family function is good In terms of grade difference, except that the dimensions of contradiction and harmony, parental concern and parental control, the total score of family function and the level of mutual relationship and communication in the primary school group were significantly better than those in the middle school group. There was no significant difference between the sexes. In terms of the difference between class cadres and non-class cadres, except the dimension of parental control, class cadres were significantly better than non-class cadres in the total score of family functions and other dimensions. In terms of the differences in left-behind status, the total score of family function and each dimension showed that the teenagers who had never been left-behind were significantly better than those who had been left-behind or were been left left-behind now.(2)Teenagers scored higher on peer acceptance. In terms of grade difference, the peer acceptance of primary school group was significantly lower than that of middle school group. There was no significant difference between the sexes. On the difference of whether the class cadre or not,the acceptance level of the class cadre is significantly higher than that of the non-class cadre. In terms of the difference of left-behind situation, the teenagers who had never been left-behind were significantly higher than those who had been left behind or were been left left-behind now.(3)The adolescents’ overall level of pro-social behavior was high and above the average level. In terms of grade difference, the total score of pro-social behavior and scores of each dimension generally showed a trend that the primary school group was superior to the middle school group. In terms of gender difference, the score of pro-social behavior of female students is significantly better than that of male students. In terms of the difference between class cadres and non-class cadres, the total score of pro-social behavior and each dimension all showed that the pro-social behavior of class cadres was significantly better than that of non-class cadres. In terms of the differences in left-behind situations, the total score of pro-social behavior and each dimension showed that the teenagers who had never beenleft-behind were significantly better than those who had been left behind or were been left-behind now.(4)There was a significant correlation between family function, peer acceptance and pro-social behavior of adolescents. There was a high consistency between students with left-behind experience and those without left-behind experience.Except for a few insignificant correlation coefficients, the total score of family function and each dimension were significantly positively correlated with peer acceptance.Peer acceptance was positively correlated with the total score of pro-social behavior and its each dimension. The total score and each dimension of family function were positively correlated with the pro-social behavior.(5)Family function positively predicted peer acceptance and pro-social behavior, while peer acceptance positively predicted pro-social behavior.Peer acceptance played a part in mediating family function and pro-social behavior. The second half of the family function mediated by peer acceptance on pro-social behavior was regulated by the left-behind status. The influence of family function on pro-social behavior through peer acceptance was stronger in the un-left-behind group. The direct effect of family function on pro-social behavior was stronger in the un-left-behind group. This study found that the level of family function could not only directly affect the pro-social behavior of adolescents, but also affect the pro-social behavior of adolescents by influencing their peer acceptance. This suggests that parents should pay attention to the impact of family functions on children, and correctly guide children to carry out positive peer communication.Under the rendering and promotion of the harmonious and friendly atmosphere, the teenagers’ behavior norms and socialization are developed. These findings provide a basis for the development of teenagers’ behavior problems and behavior intervention.Meanwhile, the influence of whether been left-behind or not has differences on the growth of children, which can provide reference value for parents to pay more attention to and accompany their children.
