With the deepening of the new curriculum reform,the teaching concept of our country has changed,the teaching mode has gradually changed from teacher-led to student-centered,and the teaching goal has gradually changed from examination-oriented to quality-oriented.According to the requirements of the new curriculum reform,teaching activities can’t be limited to the classroom,but also need to extend beyond the classroom.English homework is an extension and supplement of classroom teaching.The quality of English homework arrangement will have a great influence on students’ development.Therefore,the study on the present situation of English homework in senior high school is not only helpful for teachers to find problems and improve teaching skills,but also for students to get plan that is more in line with their comprehensive ability.At the same time,the requirements of the new curriculum reform can be better implemented.Based on humanism and output theory,this paper investigates the high school department of Bashan Middle School in Zhongxian Chongqing by means of questionnaires.This paper mainly studies and analyzes the following two questions from the aspects of the purpose,time and quantity,type and feedback of English homework:(1)What is the present situation of English homework in senior high school and what are the main problems?(2)How to optimize the problems existing in high school English homework?Through this survey,the author find that the current situations and problems of English homework in senior high school are mainly as follows: from the time and quantity of English homework,the time required for students to complete their English homework is not long and the quantity is moderate,which is in line with the requirements of the new curriculum.Form the purpose of English homework,the main purpose of English homework is to improve students’ mark.From the content and form of English homework,it lack of innovation and practical exercises.From thefeedback of English homework,the form is single,the evaluation content is not comprehensive enough,and students’ language ability can’t be comprehensively evaluated.In view of the main problems,the author put forward some solutions,such as changing the single teaching purpose to help students develop in an all-round way;widening the source of homework and enriching the content of homework;paying attention to the hierarchical design of homework;perfecting the feedback form of homework and so on.
