The Design Of The Documentary,"That River,That Boat,the Man."

The documentary "That River That Boat Man" was filmed in the old county town of Copper Liang District,Chongqing.Here there is a river called Xiao’anxi slowly flowing through,the town is divided into two halves,on one side is a lively street,on the other side is a quiet village,the village is inhabited by hundreds of families of Chen family,they are from the lake to fill Sichuan migration,long-term engaged in fishing,has been hundreds of years of history.The creators will begin research in July 2019 to get closer to and connect with the creator.In many investigations,it has been found that with the changes of the times and the great decrease in the production of fish in Xiao’anxi River,the work and life of Chen’s fishermen have been "distorted",so there is a desire to record creation.Between September 2019 and January 2020,the creators made several trips to the shooting site and selected ordinary fishermen from Xiao’an Xi to document the small-town fishermen’s insatiable loss of lost occupation,skill,dependence on rivers,and special emotions in the context of a new era by recording their real and rustic life scenes.In addition,this documentary also shows environmental issues.In addition,the life of fishermen in the old county town of Copper Liang District of Chongqing is a microcosm of the living conditions of the fishermen in the inner river in the south.In particular,the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs recently issued a circular,the Yangtze River main stream and important tributaries in addition to aquatic biological nature reserves and aquatic cultivation resources reserves in the natural waters to implement the Yangtze River ten-year fishing ban plan.And the old county town of Xiao’anxi,where I was filming,is in a no-fishing basin.Although this measure has not yet been fully implemented,it is foreseeable that the ten-year fishing ban on the Yangtze River will have an important impact on the lives of fishermen and the entire river basin.The documentary "That River Boat Man" preserves this collective memory by video,and is a tribute to the last fishermen in the basin by following the filming and interviewing Chen’s fishermen’s fishing events and lives.
