Research On Natural Ecological Documentary From The Perspective Of Environmental Communication

With the development of social economy,culture and other aspects,environmental problems are becoming more and more prominent.Global warming,air pollution,sharp decline of species and other crises and disasters closely related to the living environment of human beings are emerging one after another.Modern environmental crisis and risk has become a global issue of universal concern.Environmental Communication originates from the modern context of risk society.As an important form of mass media,documentaries can observe and describe the society,natural and people’s living environment,writing ecological risks and ecological politics.Not only enriches the form of environmental communication,but also reshapes the natural landscape to enhance the audience’s understanding of the ecological environment risk in the current human living environment.Based on the theory of Environmental Communication,the paper analyzes the discourse construction and social function of environmental in natural ecological documentaries.First,the author introduces the concept of Environmental Communication.Second,it combs the relationship between environmental communication and risk society as well as mass media,it is pointed out that the deterioration of risk society and ecological environment provides a modern context for the development of environmental communication,and the mass media plays a role in which both constructiveness and functionality are taken into account,at the same time,this chapter points out the uniqueness of natural ecology documentary in the practice of environmental media as one of the many forms of mass media Then it defines the concept of natural ecology documentary,classifies the subject,and summarizes the development of natural ecology documentary at home and abroad.In the fourth part of the article,firstly,the author introduced the discourse system of environmental communication and the environmental discourse of mass media,finding that the discourse system of environmental communication provides it with rhetorical strategies,and the environmental discourse in mass media provides it with a basic stand,which is generally based on the criticism and reflection in the context of environmental justice and existential justice.However,in addition to different discourse styles,documentaries in Britain and France show the ecological romance style,while those in the United States show a strong sense of human existence.Because of China’s unique cultural atmosphere,it can be divided into official-led ecological harmony discourse and the grassroots perspective of concern and critical discourse,in the end,the paper analyze the discourse features of the documentaries an inconvenient truth and Under the Dome to explore the discourse differences between Chinese and American natural ecology documentaries.After analyzing the whole tone of the discourse of the natural ecological documentary,in the fifth part of the article,the author analyzes the concrete composition and expression form of the symbols in the text of the natural ecological documentary,it includes the use of narrative perspective,narrative structure and narrative means,the conflict between natural civilization and industrial civilization in visual symbols,and the humanity and ethics expressed in commentary.At last,the author summarizes the environmental communication function of the natural ecological records,pointing out that in addition to the function of the text content of the natural ecological documentary to popularize ecological knowledge and environmental concepts,and to reveal environmental risks,the form itself also constructs the space of anti-discourse to criticize industrialism,as well as through the natural ecology documentary content production and the public discussion which it arouses has formed for the public rational critique environment question green public domain.In the cross-cultural exchange domain,the documentary can reduce the cultural discount and promote the international exchange of ecological civilization.
