| The philosophical system comes from our system of linguistic logic, and the philosophical thinking directly influences the artistic appearance of each period.Saussure,a Swiss linguist, created structuralism but applied it only to linguistics.Roland Bart extended Saussure’s scope of semiotic application to literature and all fields of culture, including art, thus developing Panowski’s imageology. But with the deconstruction of structuralism by Derrida’s postmodernist view,Roland Bart’s semiotics turn to poststructuralism, and the theory of semiotics has a great influence on Pop art since the 20 th century. This thesis attempts to explain pop art by introducing Roland Bart’s semiotic aesthetics. The so-called pop art in the narrow sense refers to the 1950 s to 1960 s launched in the United Kingdom in the United States popular art movement, and the British pop art mainly through the dissemination of pop culture to oppose the traditional academy art,as the world art center moved to the United States, the American pop art movement has no pre-cultural understanding,no traditional academic background,so can more freely and fully develop this art appearance, can think about the significance of pop culture itself and put into artistic practice. The so-called pop art in a broad sense refers to the concept art since the 1960 s and1970s.On the basis of inheriting some techniques of modernist art,the concept of art comes more from postmodernist philosophy. We explain the appearance of pop art from the perspective of Roland Bart’s postmodernist semiotics aesthetics, and also understand the formation reason of concept art from another level.Today’s art is still in the theoretical category of postmodernism to some extent, understanding Roland Bart’s semiotics theory has a deep guiding significance and reference value for our current artistic creation.Under the influence of this social background and theoretical viewpoint, pop artists adopt popular cultural elements in the selection of image materials to adapt to and reflect the characteristics of the consumption era in the whole environment. These consumption symbols are often some advertising signs that are easy to be common in our daily life,so they are a low-level perspective representing anti-elitism. |
