Female art has always been an important part of the long history of art.Driven by the contemporary feminist movement,the vigorous development of feminist theory increasingly impacts and influences the liberation and rise of female artists.In recent years,the art of watercolor painting has been greatly developed in China.More and more female artists appear on the watercolor stage,showing us a rich and delicate female art world.The fluidity,transparency and uncertainty of watercolor enrich the creative inspiration of female watercolor painters.There are many well-known watercolor painters in our country,write their articles everywhere,when it comes to Chinese watercolor painting,people will mention those leaders,and most of these people are men,people’s eyes seem to pay little attention to those silent efforts and have high talent of female watercolor painters.Studying Chinese female watercolor painters and their works,we have to ask whether their works are fundamentally different from male watercolor paintings.If so,what is the difference? Can the works of female watercolor painters reflect the works of male watercolor painters? How are these works different from those of female artists in other media(such as oil painting,traditional Chinese painting,sculpture,engraving,installation,etc.)? Does the feminist movement have a deep influence on the watercolor paintings of Chinese female artists? Do they take their female identities into account when creating? What are the differences between contemporary western female watercolors and contemporary Chinese female watercolors? The sixth national art exhibition watercolor works exhibition has been launched in 2019.What are the characteristics of the works of female watercolor painters? What are the limitations and problems?This article is to explore the above series of questions.The study of contemporary Chinese female watercolor painters and their works will be a more clear view of contemporary Chinese watercolor from a special perspective,which has certain reference to the development of Chinese art and the study of art theory. |
