| The cultivation of oral English ability is very important for English teaching.However,some problems still exist in traditional oral English class,such as lack of learning interest among the learners,single practice mode in classes,and the absence of authentic language environment.These problems result in low efficiency of oral English learning.Therefore,some effective measures need to be taken to solve the above problems.With the rapid development of education informatization,animation dubbing compensates the deficiency of traditional English class as a new strategy of English teaching.This paper attempts to apply animation dubbing to elementary school English classes,addressing these three questions: Can animation dubbing improve oral English ability of elementary school students? Can animation dubbing stimulate interests in oral English learning of elementary school students? Do parents of students approve of the animation dubbing teaching model? The researcher selected80 students from grade five as the research subjects in Linqu Experimental Primary School,where the researcher working as an intern teacher.Experimental class adopted animation dubbing in oral English teaching,while the control class still followed the traditional teaching method.This study uses questionnaires,tests as the quantitative research tools and interviews as qualitative one.By collecting data and analyzing it correspondingly,the study yielded the following research findings:(1)Animation dubbing works positively in this study.It enriches learning content for students,provides more opportunities for students to speak,improves student’s pronunciation and intonation obviously,and promotes students’ oral English learning effects eventually.(2)The animation dubbing teaching model can effectively improve the students’ interest in learning oral English.(3)Students and their parents approve of animation dubbing because of all these positive influences.This study means a step forward for the teaching practitioners in primary schools.The findings shed light on primary school English teaching such as promoting the application of animation dubbing in oral English teaching and improving students’ oral English ability. |
